To the Israel Orthopaedic Association
Honorable President,
The General Assembly of the Hellenic Association of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery & Sports Injury, which was assembled two years ago in Patras, unanimously decided to appoint me president for the period 2016-2018.
By this honorary movement I am also being offered the opportunity to organize the 7th Congress in my birthplace, Thessaloniki, after experiencing the success of the 1st which was held here, back in 2005. The congress will take place May 3-6, 2017 in the excellent Conference Hall of the Hotel Nikopolis Thessaloniki.
There will be cadaveric workshops and sessions which will cover all major topics of orthopaedic surgery and physiotherapy, addressed by distinguished speakers.
I urge you to come and participate actively in the symposia and the plenary sessions, so that we all benefit from the accumulated wisdom and experience of both speakers and participants.
Do take advantage of this «gathering of experts» to meet and discuss our common aims, to disseminate knowledge and experiences, and last but not least, to promote our specialty.
Thessaloniki, capital of Greek Macedonia, is the second largest city of Greece, major economic, industrial, commercial and political center, a transportation hub for the rest of southeastern Europe. Founded in 315 BC by Cassander of Macedon and being an important metropolis during the Roman period, as well as the second largest and wealthiest city of the Byzantine Empire, Thessaloniki is a unique multicultural city, rich in history, traditions, music, sport, international cuisine and many attractions. Perfectly located on the shores of Thermaikos bay, it has a port of great importance in the Balkan region and easy access through an international airport and railroads.
Despite the sharp world economic problems, I believe that knowledge dissemination should be our top priority. Therefore, I would appreciate your active participation and support in this effort.
